ABSTRACT:
Under the title ArtsSciences, Kunstzone and CASE (Centre for Arts & Sciences Education) explore the power of interdisciplinary education –where the Arts meets Sciences.
In Kunstzone’s article “Data, Lucht, en Materie”, I share how art and design can visualise and materialise scientific data.
Images are from the previous workshop Lux(ury) of Air. In the workshop, we look up — at the sky, where beauty meets crisis. Though often invisible, air pollution deeply impacts our health and climate. How dependent are we on it… is air a necessity or a luxury? In this workshop, participants collect data in lux and capture sunlight through cyanotype prints. The deeper the blue, the brighter the day. These cyanotype prints, along with the data, will be transferred onto scarves, creating wearable “snapshots” of the sky.
